Laphria posticata is also a more northern and northeastern species. The range slashes down from Wisconsin to TN to GA from Canada. Similar to divisor with both black and yellow abdominal segments, though in this species it is yellow on segments 4 and 5. Yellow beard and note the mesonotum with long yellow hairs. Scutellar hairs are usually black. These are very handsome robber flies.
