Regal Darner Coryphaeschna ingens

In the pilot darner group. Like an elongate Swamp Darner with a mint green color and broader stripes on the thorax. Rare in south Arkansas, this one was taken in Florida where they are a dominant Darner species. Faster flyers than the Swampies in general. This is a male.

Female with the full adult blue eyes. Males retain green eyes. This one also had the cerci (tail streamers) broken off as the mature females often lose them.
