Soldier Danaus erisimus

An invader to Florida since the seventies. Also found in Texas. A darker shade overall than the Queen. And it lacks the complete "big dipper" of spots on the outer portion of the forewing. Those pale white blotches on the outer hindwing are distinctive. As well as those blackened forewing veins. A poor wanderer compared to the Queen. Rarely seen anywhere but south Texas and Florida. So far the Soldier has not made it to Arkansas.
