Mead's Wood-Nymph Cercyonis meadii

A western Nymph in the same genus as the Common. Has a blush of orange instead of the yellow window on the forewing. Orange extends to upper wing surface as well. This one was located in a canyon in west Texas. Several were seen in the same area. Flight similar to the Common.

Common Ringlet Coenonympha tullia

Another western Nymph in a smaller genus. Shadowy shot. This species has an extensive northern and worldwide distribution. Very geographically variable. This is from the Colorado Rockies. Forms in CA are much paler. Flies like a floppy satyr.
