Little Metalmark Calephelis virginiensis

Southeastern and the only Metalmark in Florida. The known range does not overlap with the other eastern Metals. Can be locally common in Florida. Size is tough to judge in this shot but even our Metalmarks are tiny. This thing is vanishingly small. But very fine. Much more orangey inside than the Swamp or Northern. I am convinced this butterfly may occur in Arkansas and has not been found there yet. It has been found in adjacent counties in Oklahoma in isolated populations.
