Least Skipper Ancyloxypha numitor

A small and long-bodied orange skipper. A dainty and weak flyer that loves aquatic areas. Often flies below the tops of the vegetation as it weaves in and out. Looks black and orange in flight. Sometimes extraordinarily abundant. Can overwhelm you in northeast Arkansas. Much smaller than the Delaware and most of the other skippers except the Swarthy Skipper which is not associated with water and is never orange.

And John's close up showing the darkened poster edges, bright orange body and distinct facial expression.

And Charles' fine floppy interior shot from the SW section of the state.
