Dun Skipper Euphyes vestris The plain skipper that is not so plain. Often with highlights of green and copper and purple when fresh. The small spottings on the forewing are about as marked as it gets. The male often has a distinctly orangish head color. Distinctive overall once you are familiar with them. Likes water. Sometimes the most common skipper along highland creeks. Loves blooming buttonbush. |
