Cabbage White Pieris rapae

The other black-and-white colored white in Arkansas. Abundant in some years but in recent years it has not been a common flier in Arkansas. This is a female from Georgia. Females have two spots on the forewing; males one. Loves open areas and fields including power line cuts and highway medians. Can be mistaken for the Checkered White, especially the lesser marked males, and for the whitish individuals of the Orange Sulphur or Clouded Sulphur.
